Your company spent tens of thousands on the new web site and you host it in
Junctionbox's datacenter but the web server crashed or stopped
talking to the database server Friday night and customers couldn't connect all
weekend! How can this get detected right away in the future?
Remember how annoyed you were the last time you arrived at work and your CRM application,
E-mail or Internet access didn't work? Remember wondering why someone
wasn't checking this stuff and fixing it when it failed at 10 PM instead
of waiting until the following morning? You came in early to work on that
rush quote but because the server is down, you are drinking coffee and
grumbling with your co-workers about how unhappy people are with the I.T. department
right now.
How can your I.T. staff know about problems before a server crashes or as
soon as a circuit goes down?
These are the problems that Junctionbox's new Monitoring Service solves!!!!!
Three levels of service are available:
- Port monitoring provides notification whenever a specified port at
a particular IP address is unavailable. Port monitoring is a very
reliable UP/DOWN indication.
- Hardware Health monitoring goes beyond UP/DOWN to look inside the device to
see how well the hardware and network are actually running using
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol).
- Server OS Health monitoring looks into the health of the server operating system and standard applications via an intelligent agent running on the server. Our NOC personnel are constantly evaluating all health messages and comparing them against normal thresholds... and sending appropriate notifications to your I.T. staff.
Notifications are customizable, from phone calls for critical severity notifications to text pager e-mails for warnings.
If we are monitoring equipment within our datacenter facility, the customer has the option of using our Remote Hands service to be their eyes-and-hands within your rack to address problems.
When the equipment is on the end of a Junctionbox dedicated access service such as frame relay or Lan, you will have the extra benefit of our escalation of any connectivity issues directly to the telco transport provider.
